Day 10

I finally decided to get some real food for dinner last night (I've been doing Herbal Life shakes every night), so I asked the guy working at the front desk of the apartment building where I should walk to get a pizza. By "ask," I mean I said "pizza" and did a little walking thing with my fingers. He told me how to get to a place he called mozzerella's... I nodded and said thanks and looked up how to get there on my phone... he just talked so FAST!

I found the place (really, really close, not even a block away) and was relieved to see it was take-out only, so I wouldn't have to explain "levar para casa." I made a guess that the Marguerita pie was the same as Margarita, so I pointed at it while I told the girl the name and the size. She asked me the first question that I had no idea what she was saying, and then pointed at some options on the menu. I told her to give me the one that she liked. Turns out that was a crust stuffed with CREAM CHEESE... whaaaaat?!? Then she started asking about a drink, and I said no, until she got across to me that I could get one kind for free, so of course I agreed with that.

It was delicious... please tell me why I've never seen cream cheese-stuffed crust?? Apparently it's really common here. You'd think the US would be all about that, right? Anyway, was enough pizza that I had it again for dinner tonight, and will again tomorrow night. I gotta say although it's yummy, I can tell my energy level isn't the same as when I have the shake. So, moderation would be key here.

Remember the free drink I mentioned above? It's called Kuat Zero. Made by Coke. Was a bit like cherry Sprite except the cherry tastes stronger. Kuat though? Really? They put a neat little twine handle on it so I could carry it...

Anyway, I was proud I ventured out and manage to actually order what I wanted... I swear, the things we take for granted!

Boa noite ;)

  2. Pizza looks pretty good....I think there might be something dirty about cherry and kuat together after hearing you pronounce it
